Some interesting and some not so much

Folks, if you get a chance click here to listen to an interview that Radio 2GB’s Ray Hadley did with Corrective Services Commissioner Ron Woodham about his 40 year career. It’s under the heading Best of Ray Hadley 13/04/07, I heard most of it on Friday and it’s very interesting.

The commissioner talks about his dealing with some of Australia’s worst criminals, the Cobby killers, the Middle Eastern gang rapists, what life in ‘super max’ jails is like, how the prisoners have become madder and badder etc, it’s about 17 Meg so be patient if you’re on dialup.

On a previous occasion the commissioner mentioned that the notorious gang rapists were model prisoners, or as he put it weak as water, they give them no trouble and were just cowards. No surprises there, when it’s 10 men against one woman, then it’s Leb-style and holding each others balls, but pull them apart and send them to jail and they are exposed for the sniveling loathsome cowards they are.

He talks about certain hardcore criminals for whom ‘jail is just an occupational hazard.’ He also mentions some interesting incidents about counselors or prison workers that fall in love with some of these murdering scumbags.

I remember, some time last year a convicted killer who got a sex change was released on parole into the community, at the time there was a lot of anger and outrage and I remember a woman, a nurse or something, called into Ray’s program and defended the fellow in question, apparently he was a nice fellow from her experience. When Ray mentioned as politely as he could that the fellow was convicted for murder and rape whilst in the prison, the woman said something flippant like, oh yes I’ve heard he’s killed someone a while back.

It’s like there is some sort of disconnect with reality, like we can’t judge someone as a failure in life because they failed an exam at some point in their life. In the same way this woman was of the opinion that yes some court somewhere may have found the fellow guilty of killing someone somewhere else, but until he slits my throat and watches me die, I’ll believe he’s a good person. So I guess we shouldn’t be surprised there are some Pollyanna’s working with criminals.

In other more dramatic news, remember Pink, yes the punk rockster or was it princess. Remember that whole wool industry thing, when she joined PETA and was banging on about boycotting Aussie wool, well she ended up with a rather large amount of egg on her face because of her own stupidity. Well looks like she’s starved for attention again, so gather round folks, it’s time for us all to hold hands and nod our heads somberly while Sienna, stifling back sobs, recounts the harrowing tale of her time in Bush’s gulag under the White House.
The punk princess recently appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to discuss the lyrics of her latest track, “Dear Mr. President." And she says she's been prohibited from pitching her political views on other radio and television shows.

“Dear Mr. President” is an open-letter attack on Bush’s domestic and war policies. In the salty songs, Pink questions: "How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
What is it about these celebrities and the supposed trampling of their right to free speech? It’s like those leftist authors protesting about being silenced while bookstore shelves groan under the weight of their slow selling books. Does George Bush even know who PINK is, apart from the fact that it might be his daughter’s favorite color or something? Here are some of the lyrics from PINK’s song, you know the one that’s being censored, muzzled, prohibited, banned, would brutalized be too over-the-top?

Dear Mr. President, Come take a walk with me.
Let's pretend we're just two people and You're not better than me.
.
.
How can you say No child is left behind?
We're not dumb and we're not blind. They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell.
.
.
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you 'bout hard work

Rest assured all of you on struggle street, she knows your pain, minimum wage, she knows that, lost your house, she feels you.

Can someone tell this drama Queen that, it’s not that folks are ‘prohibiting’ her from speaking, it’s just they don’t care for her political views. It’s like those fools banging on about refugee rights every year outside Australia’s detention centers, just because we don’t turn up to listen to them, doesn’t mean they are not allowed to whinge and whine, we just don’t care what they have to whinge and whine about.
