An example

Remember earlier in the month, the Reverend Fred Nile called for an immediate moratorium on Islamic immigration. Predictably, he was howled down by the usual suspects, called divisive, inflammatory, dangerous, unacceptable and also flew in someone or something’s face.

So let’s have a look at a place where is has already happened, not the moratorium, where there are Arabs and Others living together. I know, I know, there is France and Eurabia, but let’s just assume the tolerance, kumbaya, feelings and arms-are-for-hugging spin from the authorities is true and look elsewhere. A poll was conducted by a University of Haifa sociologist into the relations between Israeli Arabs and Jews.
In its most dramatic finding, the poll showed that 28 percent of Israeli Arabs did not believe the Holocaust happened, and that among high school and college graduates the figure was even higher - 33 percent.
You would think that the more education you receive, the better you’d be able to figure out the truth from the paranoid ranting and conspiracy theories. Don’t be surprised, read the following by Shmuley Boteach, writing about American universities in the Jerusalem post, it's well worth the full read.
Not that the universities are succeeding in educating students anyway. I run a small office of employees and regularly interview candidates right out of college. A great many with degrees cannot spell, have scant knowledge of punctuation and grammar, and are utterly ignorant of history and world affairs.

At UC Berkeley, freshman who took a national test focusing on history and general knowledge scored on average 60 percent. Seniors, incredibly, averaged only 55 percent, earning the storied university a negative learning rank (Oakland Tribune). Fifteen other Universities, including Johns Hopkins, also earned negative learning ranks. Incredible, to actually become dumber after four years of college.
Bastions of free thought and higher learning, intellectual curiosity? Guess again, don’t be surprised the next time some educated person shrugs and tells you that people see history from different points of view. It’s a new age folks, it’s not the truth that matters anymore, it’s all points of view, some more equal than others. Coming back to that revealing poll.
Asked about the war with Hizbullah guerrillas in Lebanon last summer, nearly half of the Israeli Arabs polled - 48 percent - said they believed that Hizbullah's rocket attacks on northern Israel during that war were justified, even though numerous Arabs were killed and wounded in those attacks. While 89 percent said they viewed the IDF's bombing of Lebanon as a war crime, only 44 percent said they saw Hizbullah's attacks on Israel as such.
Yes, you’re reading this right, when a terrorist organization starts sending rockets over into your territory targeting your fellow country men, that’s ok. However, when your defense forces retaliate with their high-tech weapons, that’s a war crime. Would I be drawing too long a bow if I were to assume that the 44 percent didn’t have their homes or limbs blown apart by one of the incoming rockets?
Among Israeli Jews, 63 percent said they avoid entering Arab towns and cities, and 68 percent fear the possibility of civil unrest among Israeli Arabs.
Perhaps the Israeli Jews are just better informed, they must have heard about all the tolerance and peace in Bethlehem. Perhaps they’ve heard of the suicide-murdering grand mother.
The poll also found that Israeli Arabs had fears about their future in Israel: 62 percent worry that Israel could transfer their communities to the jurisdiction of a future Palestinian state, an idea supported by one of the parties in Israel's current governing coalition. Sixty percent said they are concerned about a possible mass expulsion. But more than two thirds said they would be content to live in the Jewish state, if it existed alongside a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Ok then, they don’t really support the state of Israel, don’t particularly care much for the Jews but want to live amongst them instead of their brethren. Yeah I definitely think they should be worried, someone’s needs to start questioning this free ride.

If I’m not mistaken, Arabs are a minority in Israel; moratorium anyone?
